Maram Anbar, Team Leader for the EU Counter-Terrorism Monitoring, Reporting and Support Mechanism (CT MORSE) in Brussels. In her role as CT MORSE Team Leader, she is responsible for coordinating the project activities and experts; liaising with EU and relevant actors/stakeholders; monitoring and reporting of the outputs/outcomes of the project activities; managing the project’s budget; providing advice and analysis on current and planned initiatives to counter terrorism and violent extremism; and participating in field missions and relevant conferences and meetings.
She has more than 20 years of work experience with international organizations and multilateral institutions implementing and managing international projects on a range of topics including terrorism and prevention/countering violent extremism (P/CVE), international relations, social inclusion, youth engagement and European Voluntary Service (EVS), track 2 diplomacy, socio-political transformation and democratic transitions, transitional justice, developing policy frameworks, Euro-Med./Euro-Arab cooperation, and intercultural and inter-religious dialogue. Maram’s geographical experience ranges from Middle East and North Africa to East Africa, Horn of Africa, Central Asia, Sahel, and the Caribbean.
