CTF Online Symposium No. 6: Terrorism Financing Risks of Crowdfunding

One of many new financial technologies highlighted as a potential avenue for terrorism financing is crowdfunding: collecting funds online from many sources, in order to finance a project, business, loan or other endeavour. Yet despite expressions of concern from the Financial Action Task Force, the extent to which crowdfunding’s potential for abuse has translated into practice remains unclear.

In this webinar, Stephen Reimer and Matthew Redhead of RUSI’s Centre for Financial Crime and Security Studies (CFCS) will present their research as part of their year-long study on terrorism financing and new technologies.

Participants can access the webinar either online or via phone. Please note that only participants joining us online will be able to submit questions during the webinar.

The event will be moderated by Gemma Rogers, an Associate Fellow at RUSI, and co-founder of Fintrail, an anti-financial crime consultancy focused on the fintech sector.
